Job Description
Cable & Wireless Seychelles (CWS) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join its Lineplant Operations Department as Project Officer – Planning & Design Office.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate line plant drawings and infrastructure records using GIS and AutoCAD, while supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of civil and line plant projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing project briefs, scopes of work, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
- Preparing tender documentation and supporting tender evaluation and contract processes.
- Monitoring civil works undertaken by contractors and preparing progress reports.
- Maintaining and updating CWS infrastructure records, drawings and GIS layers.
- Liaising with utilities, ministries and relevant authorities regarding plant locations, infrastructure works and planning approvals.
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should possess:
- A Diploma in Construction or a relevant field, with at least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a draughtsman.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Project Management.
- A good understanding of civil engineering works.
- Proficiency in CAD systems and GIS.
- Strong technical drawing skills.
- A valid Class 2 driving licence. An Advanced Diploma in Construction, a degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or IT, and proven experience within the telecommunications or a similar working environment would be advantageous.
