Position: Records Management and Data Protection Officer
Responsible to: Chief Compliance Officer
Job Description
Job Summary:
Oversee records policies, ensures data protection, manages data access and security, conducts audits, train staff and handles data breaches or access requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a records management program for the maintenance, digitalisation, protection, retrieval and disposal of records;
- Maintain and oversee the implementation of the records management program by updating the records and retention schedules as well as the disposal policies;
- Provide training to staff on records management procedures and policies;
- Perform regular assurance tests to ensure that procedures are followed;
- Ensure that data controllers and data subjects are informed about their data protection rights, obligations and responsibilities;
- Raise awareness about data protection in the workplace;
- Give advice and recommendations to the Bank about the interpretation or application of the data protections rules;
- Monitor compliance with the Bank’s policies on the protection of personal data and monitor compliance with the Data Protection Act;
- Act as the contact point for the Information Commission on issues relating to the processing, including consultation, investigations, audits or any other aspect that the Commission deems necessary in relation to the data protection laws; and
- Act as the main focal point to the data subjects’ complaints and shall be responsible for establishing adequate mechanisms to adopt handling of disputes.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Law, Information Technology, Library Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in records management, data governance, or compliance – preferably within Banking, insurance, or other regulated financial services function.
- Experience with Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
- Familiarity with international and national data protection laws.
