Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for the following:-
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in Planning, developing and coordinating marketing activities in regards to the company’s products and services for these markets.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in Building profitable relationships with overseas Tour Operators, Incentive Houses and Cruise-ship companies whilst establishing solid and mutually beneficial partnerships with hotel operators, airline and other tourism service providers.
- Establishing close working relationships with all tourism and other related national authorities, trade associations and relevant government departments.
- Participating in continuous product and services development and improvement projects.
- Organise and oversee the visits of Educational and Press and Media groups.
Duties
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager to establish marketing goals to ensure target share of market and profitability of products and services.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and execute marketing plans and programs for allocated market both short and long range, to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and services in support of the company’s strategic intent.
- Assist Sales & Marketing Manager to conduct research, analyse and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized market specific.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in planning advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets. Oversee such activities for your defined markets.
- Work with writers and artists and oversee copywriting, design, layout, paste-up, and production of promotional materials.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and recommend strategies which will result in constantly improving yield in earnings per client over the short term and a steady growth in market share over the long run.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in ensuring effective control and monitoring of marketing results and that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within designated budgets.
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager to conduct marketing surveys on current and new service and product concepts.
- Prepare and circulate marketing activity reports/statistics.
- Participate in weekly meetings with Operations/Transport/Reservation Departments to organize VIP arrivals and programmes
- Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in the planning of trade fairs, workshops and sales visits
- Maintain marketing data base including catalogs, key codes and customer/prospectus files
- Co-ordinate marketing fulfillment duties including direct mail, packages, letters, catalog and other sales literature
- Input all relevant information for online Tour Operators’ sales, such as special offers, hotel reservations when necessary.
- Negotiate special conditions with hoteliers for online/Tour Operators eg. Last minute sales/offers.
- Close working relationship with Reservations Department in order to keep records of all sales conditions and statistics.
- Develop and target new Online/Tour Operators’ markets.
- Ensure the good use of our booking system back office as well as the b2b booking system to be able to assist partners when in need.
- Conduct airport duties to welcome specific VIPs as well as accompany them on selective days on the field and attend lunch/dinner.
- Any other related duties that may be assigned
Working Hours
from Normal –42 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
Special Working Conditions
can be requested to work outside normal working hours and days
Job Requirements
Education (Knowledge):
- Degree in Tourism/ Tourism Marketing
Training (Skills):
- Good knowledge of the Seychelles Products
- Computing Skills
- Good Public Relations skills
- Event organization skills
- Research skills
- Good knowledge of the destination in all its aspects
- Knowledge of the different markets
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English and French (*good French – written and spoken – is a must)
Experience:
- Preferably a minimum two years related working experience
