JOB TITLE: Senior Catch Certification Officer
DEPARTMENT: Monitoring Control & Surveillance
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Manager Monitoring
Job Description
Summary of Duties
Oversee the daily duties of the Catch Certification Officers. Ensure that they are undertaking their tasks within given timeline and schedule. To actively participate in the daily validation of catch certificates and trade documentation as the competent fisheries authority of Seychelles. Implement other trade related measures to prevent deter and eliminate IUU fishing. Perform other duties as authorized fisheries officer in accordance to the Fishing Act of 2014.

Job Requirements
Education (Special Knowledge) /Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in trade related studies, fisheries management, Law, MC or related field
OR
- A Level in English, French, Geography, and Law
OR
- Plus 3 years’ working experience as Catch Certification Officer or 3 years in similar field
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Seychelles Fisheries Law and other relevant legislations
- Maritime Law Enforcement
- Fisheries Information Systems (VMS, Electronic Logbooks etc., Fisheries Database)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good organisational skills
