Job Description
General Purpose
The Senior Driver will provide dedicated, punctual, and reliable transportation services to the Secretary of State for Fisheries and the Blue Economy Department, for all official duties, including meetings, site visits, ceremonies, airport transfers, and other official functions, both during and outside normal working hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Driver will be responsible for:
- Providing dedicated and timely transportation to the Secretary of State for all official duties.
- Ensuring availability for official assignments beyond normal working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of duties.
- Ensuring the official vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times.
- Planning routes and schedules to ensure punctuality for meetings, events, and official functions.
- Assisting with logistical support related to official movements and transport arrangements.
- Keeping proper records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, servicing, and maintenance.
- Ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and government transport policies.
- Providing support for airport transfers, protocol duties, and official delegations when required.
- Remaining on standby for urgent or unforeseen official assignments.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the Secretary of State or the Ministry.

Recognised qualifications and requirements for the post
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Valid Class 2 Driving Licence.
- Minimum of five (5) years of accident-free driving experience.
- Fluency in spoken and written English, French, and Creole.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and essential vehicle maintenance.
