Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing and coordinating assigned activities of the Trade Division;
- Provide decision makers with independent evidence-based analysis and provide comprehensive research works and Assist in preparing trade policy for the Government;
- Assist in maintaining and ensuring close relationships with national, regional and international stakeholders.
- Participate in multilateral, bilateral and regional trade negotiations including but not limited to the WTO, AfCFTA, COMESA, SADC, and EPAs.
- Advise Government on the accession to trade related protocols, the development of administrative cooperation agreements and Memorandums of Understanding;
- To represent the Ministry on economic and trade committees and in meetings requiring the input of the Trade Department;
- To assist in the implementation of the economic reform programme, and transparency objectives as it relates to trade;
- Any other related duties, as required.
Benefits
Competitive salary dependent on experience
Salary Band: B5 B6
Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade Finance and Development/Business Administration/ Economics/Public Policy, or related field plus five (5) years working experience.
