Job Description

PURPOSE

A Maritime Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing deals with clients in the maritime industry. This role involves a deep understanding of maritime products or services and excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with maritime clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Client Acquisition:
  • Identify and target potential clients within the maritime industry, such as shipowners, shipping companies, and maritime service providers.
  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients and expand the customer base.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of maritime products or services offered by the company, or other relevant offerings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitors’ products.
  • Sales Presentations:
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients, effectively communicating how the company’s offerings can meet their needs.
  • Tailor presentations to address clients’ specific challenges and requirements.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and concerns.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions that address the clients’ goals and challenges.
  • Sales Negotiations:
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to close deals and meet revenue targets.
  • Ensure that negotiated agreements align with the company’s goals and profitability.
  • Sales Metrics:
  • Set and achieve sales targets, such as revenue goals, sales quotas, and new client acquisition goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records and reports.
  • Market Research:
  • Stay informed about market trends, competition, and regulatory changes within the maritime industry.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to adjust sales strategies.
  • Customer Feedback:
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback to the product development and marketing teams to help improve products or services.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2–4 years of sales experience, preferably in ship supply, maritime, shipping, logistics, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of maritime products, ship supply services, or vessel operations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the maritime sector.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity.
  • Comfortable preparing sales reports, forecasts, and client documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM system experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple prospects and accounts.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to meet client and vessel requirements.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
