Spray Painter / Panel Beater
Job Description
Job Summary
The Spray Painter / Panel Beater is responsible to repair damaged vehicle bodywork and applying paint finishes restoring vehicles to their original condition after accidents, wear, or corrosion.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair dents, scratches, and damaged vehicle panels
- Remove and replace severely damaged body parts
- Straighten frames and reshape metal panels using tools
- Fill, sand, and smooth surfaces in preparation for painting
- Align panels, doors, and other body components
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas
- Mix and match paint colors to original vehicle specifications
- Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using spray equipment
- Ensure smooth, even, and high-quality paint finishes
- Polish and buff painted surfaces to achieve a final finish
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate/ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience in related field
- Valid driving licence No. 2 will be a plus
Skills
- Good Communication Skills
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Knowledge of auto body repair and painting techniques
- Ability to use tools such as sanders, spray guns, and welding equipment
- Understanding of safety procedures and chemical handling
