Job Description

Supervision Officer

Capital Markets and Collective Investment Scheme Supervision Section

Job Purpose:

To perform authorization evaluations and carry out sectoral supervision in order to ensure the effective supervision of regulated persons and activities under the regulatory scope of the Section.

Summary of Duties:

• Engage in the processing and evaluation of applications and make coherent recommendations highlighting the potential risks and payoff for each recommendation in accordance with relevant legislation and within the service standards.
• Through either on-site inspection and/or off-site reviews, make recommendations on appropriate regulatory enforcement action(s) in events of regulatory breaches or risk mitigation strategies and ensure proper implementation.
• Coordinate and facilitate liaison with customers or their agents on matters related to their applications.
• Liaise with local or international bodies\authorities whenever necessary to complete application processing or on supervision, compliance and enforcement matters.
• Conduct market research to improve the regulatory standing of the industry and the jurisdiction.
• Supervise and monitor regulated persons and activities under the purview of the Capital Markets and Collective Investment Scheme Supervision Section.

Job Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements:

• Undergraduate Degree in Finance or Economics or Accounting or Law or any other relevant field or suitable level of experience; or
• Post Graduate Certificate/ Diploma in any of the above; or CISI, ICA Diploma, ACCA
