Job Description

Post Title: Technician

Division: Radio Communications

Responsible To: Director Radio Communications

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Administer the national radio-frequency spectrum, numbering plan and any other national telecommunication related resources.
• Assist in the maintenance of the relevant database for radio-frequencies, numbers, call signs, MMSIs etc.
• Assist in the validation of data associated with the database for radio-frequencies.
• Assist in Implementing the various stages of licensing for telecommunication services and radio communication systems, inclusive of the preparation of licences
• Process applications for the importation of radio communication equipment.
• Assist in conducting examination for maritime radio telephone operators.
• Investigate and eliminate harmful radio-frequency interference.
• Conduct inspections of radio communication equipment.
• Conduct radio-frequency spectrum monitoring.
• Perform any other cognate duties as may be assigned by the Director of Radio Communications.

Job Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

• Diploma in Electronics and/or Communications Engineering related field plus Or
• Successfully completed two A Level subjects in the field of Mathematics and Science.
