The National Sports Council is looking for a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the position of Facilities Technician

As the Facilities Technician, you Responsible for overseeing and maintaining sports facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and in compliance with regulations.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of sports facilities to ensure they are in safe and optimal condition for use by athletes and the public.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain sports equipment such as goal posts, nets, scoreboards, and other necessary gear to ensure they are in good working order.
• Repairs and Troubleshooting: Perform repairs on facilities and equipment as needed, including plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and HVAC systems.
• Grounds keeping: Maintain the grounds surrounding the sports facilities, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and ensuring the overall landscaping is well-kept.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Ensure that sports facilities, including locker rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, are clean, sanitized, and free from debris.
• Security and Safety: Implement security measures to safeguard the facilities and equipment from theft, vandalism, and damage. Also, ensuring that safety protocols and regulations are followed to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of sports events, including arranging seating, preparing equipment, and ensuring that facilities are ready for use by athletes and spectators.
• Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with other staff members, including administrators, coaches, and event organizers, to coordinate maintenance schedules, address concerns, and ensure that the needs of athletes and visitors are met.

• Apprenticeship certificate in a construction related field.
