Job Description
Job summary
Responsible for performing carpentry maintenance works to resolve immediate operational and/or safety concerns and provide for schedule/non-schedule preventative maintenance works with aim to keep existing facilities to the highest possible standards
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Undertake carpentry maintenance work onto existing building infrastructure (e.g. roof, floors, cabinets, ceiling, tables, chairs, doors, windows etc.) for the purpose of maintaining equipment and facilities in a safe condition to always enable full use of the facilities and equipment.
- Ensure that works are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Assist Supervisor with routine inspection of all SAA establishment and facilities and take note of maintenance and repair works required and take appropriate action where necessary.
- Inspects existing facilities, systems and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and identifying defects to undertake necessary repairs and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance.
- Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items in safe operating condition at all times.
- Recommends supplies and equipment (hand tools, power tools, hardware, consumables materials) for purchase for the purpose of maintaining the materials on stock for future use.
- Responds to emergency situations as may be required, and with notice is on 24-hour call for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Certificate in relevant field OR;
- At least 3 years satisfactory relevant experience plus Trade Test Grade 3.
- Driving License is a plus.
