Job Description
Job summary
Under the supervision of the Legal Officer (LO) will coordinate and assist the Legal Section with various tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing documents, communicating with clients, preparing hearings and meetings, and organizing and management of all legal and regulatory matters inclusive of aviation law matters.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction and supervision of the LO:
- Conduct relevant case law research and prepare legal briefs;
- Responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and the business community;
- Provide legal Advice on legal matters and interpretation of the law to the SAA management to ensure compliance with all existing legislation, statutory instruments and other international obligations;
- Act proactively to review and provide legal advice on the effects and applicability of legislation relevant to the Organizations activities/ functions;
- Prepare legal documents as required and relevant to the organizational and the discharge of its functions;
- Liaise with Attorney General’s Office and other Government departments as necessary in cases requiring legal enforcement actions in cases of violations;
- Assist to draft legal and other contractual documents;
- Assists LC/LO with employment related legal issues, contracts, claims;
- Obtain and keep updated information pertaining to legislations and other legal requirements that have a bearing on the SCAA’s operations;
- Assist in the preparation of timely and appropriate replies to correspondence, enquiries, inter-office memoranda and other requests having legal implications.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, with minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in Law .
- Conversant with the Laws of Seychelles.
