Job Description

PURPOSE

The Deputy Director, Studies and Curriculum is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in the design, implementation, review, and quality assurance of academic programs, curricula, and pedagogical approaches at SIAH. The role ensures that training and education programs meet institutional goals, national standards, and industry needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of curricula, training programs, and academic standards.
  • Ensure the integration of modern pedagogical approaches, competency-based learning, and practical training methodologies.
  • Coordinate academic planning, course scheduling, and instructional delivery across departments.
  • Supervise academic staff and provide guidance on teaching methodologies, assessment, and learner evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations, accreditation requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Foster partnerships with professional centres, academic institutions locally and internationally, and industry stakeholders to enhance program relevance and quality.
  • Prepare and submit academic reports, performance reviews, and improvement plans to the Director, SIAH.
  • Prepare appraisals and performance reporting of Lectures and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Support research, innovation, and professional development initiatives related to education and pedagogy.
  • Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and field-based training in agriculture, engineering, and irrigation technology as and when required.
  • Perform any other duties from time to time as may be prescribed by the Director in line with SIAH’s strategic plan.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • MSc in Education, Curriculum Studies, Pedagogy, or a closely related field.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Mandatory experience in education and pedagogy.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with a professional center in a similar position or a higher-level role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional systems, and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
