SHORT TERM CONTRACT

The Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment (MACCE) is implementing a GEF funded project entitled “Indian Ocean ISLANDS – Seychelles- Implementing Sustainable Low and non-Chemical Development in SIDS” (ISLANDS Project).   The project is currently seeking a consultant to carry out the following assignment:

FEASIBILITY FOR THE SOUND MANAGEMENT OF WASTE OIL

Work is expected to commence in May 2024 and be implemented by August 2024. 

Request for Proposal (RFP) is available in electronic or paper form from the address below between 9.00am to 3.00pm.  A full description of duties is provided in the Terms of Reference. These must be consulted before making an application.

General Qualifications/Experience and Skills required (please refer to the TOR for the full list)

• Bachelor’s degree in waste management, Environment or a related field with minimum 8 years’ working experience in waste management.
• Experience in designing waste management schemes in Seychelles/SIDS is an advantage
• Experience in undertaking technical and financial feasibility assessments
• Familiarity with waste management policies and laws in Seychelles.
• Prior UNDP/GEF project experience and knowledge of UNDP and GEF procedures is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, experience in moderation and facilitation of stakeholder discussions and reviews, proven through successful interactions with all levels of stakeholder groups especially local people/communities.
• Fluent written and oral communication in English and Creole; knowledge of French is an advantage.
