Job Description
Financial Inclusion Officer
Market Conduct and Financial Inclusion Section
Job Purpose:
To support the implementation of national financial inclusion initiatives by coordinating financial literacy programs, conducting grassroots research, and engaging with stakeholders. The Officer is responsible for ensuring that financial services become more accessible, affordable, and understandable for all segments of the Seychelles population, particularly underserved groups and SMEs.
Summary of Duties:
- Develop and deliver educational content for various media platforms (radio, social media, print) and facilitate public workshops, school visits, and community outreach sessions to improve national financial capability.
- Create and distribute consumer guides that simplify complex financial terms and explain the rights and responsibilities of the public when using financial products.
- Translate complex financial and regulatory concepts into Seychellois Creole to ensure accessibility for all segments of the population.
- Conduct field surveys and data collection to identify geographic or socio-economic barriers preventing citizens from accessing formal financial services, including banking, insurance, and mobile money.
- Collect, compile, and maintain demand-side survey data and supply-side reporting from licensees, contributing to the section’s financial inclusion indicators and the annual Financial Inclusion Progress Report.
- Act as a coordination point for the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) working groups, ensuring that meeting minutes, action items, and progress reports are accurately maintained and circulated.
- Assist in monitoring new digital financial products, including fintech and sandbox products, to ensure they are designed with inclusion objectives in mind and that onboarding processes are user-friendly for non-technical consumers.

Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, financial services, or a related role. Experience in data collection, survey methodology, or financial education is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the Seychelles financial legislative landscape (FSA Act, Insurance Act) or financial regulation more broadly is desirable.
- Knowledge of financial inclusion frameworks, including the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Maya Declaration commitments, is an advantage.
- Professional certification or membership in a relevant body (e.g., community development, financial education, or communications) is desirable.
