Meliá Seychelles is set to open early 2026 and is located within the Seafront Estate, Roche Caiman, Mahé. Our business & leisure resort will include:Â
- 120 beautifully appointed rooms, including standards, suites, and junior suites
- 68 branded apartments of which 40 will be part of the hotel rental pool
- A convention centre accommodating up to 300 guests
- Three dining outlets, a gym, pool, spa, and a rooftop area
Job Description
Position Profile
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to lead the Human Resources function for our new hotel, the Meliá Seychelles, a business & leisure resort comprising of 160-keys and a large conference centre.
The ideal candidate must have pre-opening experience and be responsible for establishing HR policies, recruiting top talent, and ensuring compliance with local labour laws. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to create a positive work culture that aligns with the hotel’s vision and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Phase:
- Develop and implement the hotel’s HR strategy, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and local regulations.
- Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, and onboarding of all hotel employees, ensuring staffing needs are met before the grand opening.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish organizational structures and job descriptions.
- Set up HR systems, payroll, and employee records to ensure smooth operational readiness.
- Establish employee engagement programs to build a strong team culture from the start.
- Coordinate training and development programs to ensure employees are well-prepared for the hotel’s launch.
- Manage GOP and labour law compliance for local and expatriate staff.
Operational HR Functions:
- Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, and training.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Foster a positive work environment, addressing grievances and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Implement and monitor HR metrics, such as employee turnover, engagement, and productivity.
- Develop compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior management, providing HR insights and recommendations.

Job Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR management experience, with at least 2 years in a pre-opening hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, recruitment strategies, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to lead HR functions in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with HR software, payroll systems, and employee management tools.
