Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, trustworthy, and results-driven professional to join our team as Managing Director. That will provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall operations, growth, and performance of the company’s wholesale and distribution business across both the retail and HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) sectors in Seychelles. This role requires strong business acumen, exceptional leadership and decision-making skills, and a thorough understanding of the local wholesale and distribution industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, and leading the organisation towards achieving its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement the company’s overall strategic vision, goals, and objectives in alignment with the shareholders’ interests and market trends.
• Analyse industry trends, market dynamics, and competition to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
• Set annual business plans and budgets to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.

Business Development:

• Identify potential business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company’s product portfolio and customer base.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and key customers to ensure a steady supply chain and enhance customer loyalty.
• Explore new market segments and geographical areas to diversify and increase the company’s market presence.

Operations Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wholesale and distribution business, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, warehousing, logistics, and Sales Departments.
• Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock availability and minimize carrying costs.
• Implement efficient operational processes and systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs

Sales and Marketing:

• Lead the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to design targeted promotional campaigns and advertising initiatives to increase brand awareness and market share.
• Work closely with sales representatives to establish strong customer relationships and understand their needs.

Financial Management:

• Take ultimate responsibility for the financial performance of the business, ensuring profitability, liquidity, and financial stability.
• Review financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Make informed financial decisions to maximize return on investment.

Team Leadership:

• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of professionals across various departments.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to inspire and motivate employees to achieve their best performance.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that values diversity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Compliance and Legal Affairs:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in Seychelles.
• Address any legal or regulatory issues promptly and appropriately

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Managing Director or in a similar leadership role in the wholesale and distribution industry, preferably in the retail and HORECA markets in Seychelles.
• In-depth knowledge of the wholesale and distribution business model, supply chain management, and market dynamics in Seychelles.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to drive and motivate teams towards common goals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Financial acumen and proficiency in analyzing financial reports and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance in Seychelles.
• Adaptability and resilience to navigate in a competitive and dynamic market environment
