Job Description

Position Summary

A steward assists in keeping a restaurant, bar, or lounge clean and sanitary. Assists in cleaning dishes and tends to customer needs. The steward may also perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones, taking reservations, and giving out basic information.

• Physical mobility and stamina required.
• Ability to follow instruction.
• Detail-oriented.
• Professional attitude is required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Bondable is generally required.
• Previous customer service experience may be required.
• Good communication skills are an asset.
• Good organizational skills.
• Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects without assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
