Job Description
Position Summary
The Commis is responsible for preparing consistent, high-quality dishes. Must be courteous, professional, efficient and flexible as per the kitchen t operational standards. You will be responsible for assisting the CDP and Sous Chef in cooking and ensuring that all stations are clean.
Qualification & Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and washing ingredients.
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately.
- Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes.
- Follow recipes and instructions given by senior chefs.
- Assist with garnishing and final presentation of dishes.
- Keep workstations clean and organized.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Help receive and store kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Report shortages or spoiled items to senior staff.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food preparation.
- Passion for cooking and eagerness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or culinary school certificate.
